G.Narayanamma Institute of Technology & Science (GNITS) (For Women), sponsored by G.Pulla Reddy Charities Trust was started on 15th December 1997. Sri G.Pulla Reddy was an eminent business man of great integrity and impeccable reputation. His business of vending sweets of surpassing taste and purity has earned him a celebrity status all over Andhra Pradesh. Though a man of minimum qualification he became an educationist par excellence by starting a number of educational institutions of varied dimensions in Kurnool and Hyderabad. He was the Chairman of G.Pulla Reddy Charities Trust and under his pragmatic guidance G.Narayanamma Institute of Technology & Science (for women) has recorded phenomenal growth in a short span of time. On 15th December 1997 he started an Engineering College for women with the key notion of uplifting the role of women in society and empowering them with an increasing awareness. G.Pulla Reddy Charities Trust soon became a pioneer in establishing a chain of Institutions exclusively for women.

GNITS has been accredited by NBA once. It has achieved permanent affiliation of JNTU, Hyderabad in the year 2007-2008 for a period of three years and again from 2009-10 to 2011-12. The institute is maintaining about 90% as pass percentage for outgoing students in all most all courses. The college has developed 4,01,1000 Sq.Ft. of infrastructure to accommodate 2500 students. Two hostel buildings have been constructed within the campus to accommodate 650 boarders. There are some air conditioned rooms to accommodate the needy students. 15 mbps leased line is provided and the total campus is provided with Wi-fi facility. Achieving more than 80 to 85% placements every year is one of the GNITS speciality. The staff produced more than 100 research papers in international journals consistently. 9 professors are guiding Ph.D. scholars in 5 universities and a few of the Ph.D. scholars are awarded with Ph.D. and some of the scholars have submitted their thesis to the respective universities. Based on the performance, JNTU Hyderabad is processing to sanction exclusive Research Centre for GNITS. 

           

           GNITS achieved Autonomous status for a period of three years with effect from the academic year 2011-2012
