Dean – Innovation & Incubation
Dr. N. Kalyani, Professor CSE, Dean Innovation and Incubation, has total 5 years of Industry experience in R.K. Engineers, Hyderabad and 23 years of teaching and research experience. She is working in Department of CSE since 2004 at GNITS. She started her career in 1994 as a Design engineer at R.K Engineers for 5 years as was instrumental in designing different structures. In 2002 joined as Assistant Professor in Gokaraju Rangaraju Institute of Engineering and Technology and worked for three years. She handled responsibilities both at department and institute level as central R&D coordinator, NIRF nodel officer, AICTE, AISHE, NBA and NAAC coordinator. She coordinated to establish incubation centre by M/s Intrinsic Science Labs, Hyderabad. To promote the IP protection in campus initiate an MoU with LCGC Resolute Group Of Companies.
She completed B.Tech in Civil Engineering from Vasavi College of Engineering in 1994, M.Tech in 2001 and Ph.D in 2012 from Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Hyderabad in Computer Science Engineering. In 2022 she completed one year Certification Course on “Machine Learning and its Applications” offered by Applied Roots along with other courses in emerging technologies.
She translated NPTEL Lectures offered by IIT Kharagpur to Telugu language, under Technical Book writing scheme of AICTE, MHRD, Govt of India. She published 45 plus papers in International Journals like Springer, IEEE and Scopus and published 3 patents. She authored 5 text books for technical courses and are published by TataMcgraw Hill and Pearson publishers. She organised 7 workshops and delivered lectures on emerging technologies as resource person in 21 workshops organised under E&ICT academy, MHRD, UGC, IODev University etc. The google scholar citations index is 83, H index 6, i-10 index 2. She received Best Paper awards twice in two reputed International Conferences.
She is Co-PI for two research projects worth of Rs 58,00,000 under DST TIDE and DDP. She also received a SEED grant of Rs 1.9 Lakhs as Co PI for a research project from GNITS and Rs 4.5 Lakhs from BTBP. As offered consultancy service wirth of Rs 6.5 Lakhs for Glonbarena private limited, Serveen Software Solutions Pvt Ltd, P.S. Engineers and also developed content for JNTUH. She coordinated three programs under AICTE PMKVY in 2017 funded project worth of Rs 9.5 Lakhs. The projects mentored are to solve critical problems with social importance and won cash awards and best project awards in various state and national platforms. She is currently guiding three research scholars under reputed universities.
She was nominated as reviewer for various international conferences. She is Publishing chair for the International conference ICICCC2022. She is recognised Supervisor and Co-Supervisor for various universities like JNTUH and KLU. She is BoS member, subject expert for staff selection committee for various reputed engineering colleges and is actively involved in curriculum development.
She is life member of Institute of Engineers, ISTE, CSI, IEAE. The various research projects done under her guidance received cash awards and best project awards. She received Academic Excellence Award in 2007and GNITS Star Women of the year 2022 Award by the management of GNITS, Best Teacher Award from Institute for Exploring Advances in Engineering in in Apr – 2018, Star Achiever Award from Accenture in Mar 2019, Utham Acharya Puraskar Award by Indian Servers in association with Lions Club International, Vijayawada, Telangana IT Associations and Information Technology Companies association of Andhra Pradesh in Oct 2019, and also was Felicitated as Best Women Engineer Contributor by Institute of Engineers India(IEI) in 34th Indian Engineering Congress for contributions in “Social Engineering – Imperatives for Nation Building : Women Engineers Meet Organized by Telangana State Centre in Dec 2019.
