Dr.M.Seetha

Dr. M. Seetha was born on 15 June, 1971. She received B.Tech from Nagarjuna University in 1992, M. S. from B I T S, Pilani in 1999 and Ph.D in Computer Science and Engineering in the area of image processing in December 2007 from Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Hyderabad. She is currently working as a Professor Department of CSE and Dean-R&D in GNITS, Hyderabad. She has vast teaching experience of 26 years and worked in reputed colleges including CBIT, Hyderabad and Bapatla Engineering College, Bapatla. Her areas of research include Image processing, Soft Computing, Artificial Intelligence, Data Mining and Optimization Algorithms.

She has published 154 research papers in various National/International Journals and Conferences. The number of google scholar citations are 323, of which Scopus are 75, H index 13, i-10 index 10. She also received three Best Paper awards in reputed International Conferences. She reviewed two books in Computer Organization and Microprocessors. She has guided 7 Ph.Ds from JNTUH, JNTUK and VTU, Belgaum and is guiding 7 Ph.D. scholars, in the areas of Image Processing, Neural Networks and Data Mining. She received AICTE CAYT Award in Feb, 2009 with a grant of 10.5 lakhs and a grant of 2.88 lakhs under AICTE PMKVY in 2017.  She is instrumental in the establishment of IoT Center of Excellence with a grant of 2.6 lakhs received under AICTE MODROBS in the department of CSE.

She is recipient of several prestigious awards and grants for her immense contribution in the field, such as “Acharya Ratna award” for impact creator in engineering education from Indian servers, Telangana IT association and AP IT association in 2019. She received “Best HoD of the year award” from CSI Mumbai chapter, Technext India 2019. She is the recipient of the Distinguished Faculty in Engineering Award by Venus International Foundation, Chennai in July, 2017 and Accenture Star Achiever Award in Sept, 2016.

She is a governing council member for GNITS. She was the panel member for staff selection committee and BOS member for various colleges .She was part of the steering committee for the international conference ICCCET 19 organized in GNITS. She has delivered many distinguished lectures in various workshops and faculty development in the latest areas of ML, image, video processing, research methodologies and funding. She served as Editorial Board Member, Reviewer, Advisory committee / Program committee member of various International Journals of Information Fusion, ACM Acta Press journals related to Computer Science and various International Conferences of TENCON, IEEE INDICON etc.  She is an Honorary Professor in JNIAS Jawaharlal Nehru Institute of Advanced Studies, Hyderabad from 2010.  She is a Life member of ISTE, IETE, CSI and Fellow of IE.

GNITS for her proficiency granted a seed amount of Rs.4,25,000/- for research projects. Under her headship, GNITS has received NBA Accreditation for UG in and PG courses for 3 years in 2017 and 2018 respectively.  She is influential in entering seven MoUs with different industries/organizations to meet the demand of training and project development on current technologies. Under her guidance 11 Faculty development programs and In house training programs were conducted to meet with the requirements of current industry and research trends. She is also instrumental in establishing two significant centers, Center of Excellence IoT & Analytics and AI & ML along with the two new incubation centers M/s Bookmystall, Hyderabad and M/s Intrinsic Science Labs, Hyderabad.

She is pioneer in initiating innovative activities in the department like exploration lab for skill development to train students on latest technologies like Web development using PHP, Blockchain, Artificial Intelligence, Machine learning and Data Science. She initiated 24 Hr Hackathons, summer internships and skill development programs for students in association with Hebeon technologies, Smart bridge Educational consultants and INSOFE to expertise them with robust programming and technical skills. She proficiently motivated the faculty for active participation in the Hour of Medhomadhan and discussions of various domains of research and societal issues and submit research proposals to various funding schemes.

She has built a good association with the Alumni, every year there is an overwhelming response and some of the alumni came forward to deliver the sessions on recent trends in the industry, two of the alumni also established the incubation centers.
